A good source photo gives the drawing more to work with. Here is how to choose one, follow your portrait, and keep the finished file. Acorn Portrait is independent of the Korean Acorn Caricature studio.

Keep the face clear
Use a sharp photo where one person’s face, hair, and expression are visible.

Choose even light
Soft light helps preserve the features that make the portrait recognizable.

Leave room around the head
Avoid tight crops, heavy blur, strong shadows, and objects covering the face.

Selecting a file lets you preview it on your device. Upload begins only when you confirm and create a portrait.

Choose a photo
Select or drop one JPEG, PNG, or WebP file up to 10MB. Review it locally first.

Create the drawing
Confirm you may use the photo and click Create. Only then is the prepared copy uploaded.

Save your portrait
Open the finished drawing from the workspace or your private gallery and download it.
Google sign-in is required to generate. If you choose a photo before signing in, you will need to select it again afterward; it is not carried through the sign-in redirect.

The drawing is still waiting
The workspace shows uploading, queued, and creating as separate stages. There is no promised completion time. Reopen the same task or check Recent portraits before starting another one.
The drawing failed
Read the error in the workspace and choose a different photo or try again. In public mode a technically failed generation returns its credit; a new completed attempt uses one credit.
The download is unavailable
Finished portraits remain in private storage for up to 30 days. Download yours before its displayed expiry date. A deleted or expired result cannot be downloaded again.

$4.99 USD buys 5 credits as a one-time purchase. Unused credits do not expire; there is no subscription.
One completed portrait, one credit.
A technically failed generation returns its credit. Creating another drawing after a completed result uses a new credit.
Download while it is stored.
Downloads cost no extra credit. Your private gallery shows each result’s expiry date; results are kept for up to 30 days.

Our storage periods and the AI provider’s handling are separate.

Prepared here. Stored briefly.
Your browser prepares a copy before upload. Clicking Create sends it to our private storage. Source photos expire after 24 hours; finished portraits expire after 30 days. You can delete a result sooner from your private gallery.
02 / At the provider

For GPT portraits, the photo goes through OpenRouter to OpenAI. We request no data collection, but do not require zero retention in this mode. The provider may retain request content under its own policies; our 24-hour and 30-day storage periods do not control that retention.
