About this notice

This notice covers Acorn Portrait at acornportrait.com. In this notice, “we” means the operator of this service. For a question about your information or a privacy request, email support@acornportrait.com without signing in. You can also use our contact page. Its private request form asks you to sign in with Google so we can connect the request to your account.

Information we collect

We process the information needed for the features you use:

• Your Google account name, email address and profile image, together with account and sign-in records.
• The photo you choose to submit, your generated portrait, creation status and history, and your confirmation that you have permission to use the photo.
• Credit balance and usage, orders, payment status, and support messages you send us. Stripe collects payment details during checkout; we do not receive your full card number or security code.
• Limited technical information, such as request and error records, needed for authentication, security, troubleshooting and preventing misuse.

We do not publish your photo or portrait as an example without separate permission. We do not use uploaded photos to train our own image model.

Why we process it

We use account information to sign you in; photos to create and deliver your requested portrait; order and credit records to process purchases and account for generations; support messages to answer you; and technical records to keep the service secure and working.

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, providing the service you request is the basis for account, photo and order processing. We rely on legitimate interests for proportionate security, abuse prevention and troubleshooting, and on legal obligations where records must be retained. Public display of a customer photo or result requires separate permission. You can choose not to submit a photo, but we cannot create a portrait without one.

Site analytics is optional. In locations where we ask first, declining does not affect your ability to use the service. You can turn off analytics anywhere using Cookie settings.

Who handles information

Google provides sign-in. Cloudflare serves the site and hosts private image storage. Neon hosts account, creation, credit, order and support records. OpenRouter sends an image-generation request to OpenAI. Stripe processes checkout and payment records. When analytics is active, Google Analytics receives page-view and browser information. Each provider receives the information needed for its role.

Our image request asks OpenRouter to deny data collection and uses a fixed provider. This is not a promise of zero retention by OpenRouter or OpenAI. Their handling and retention of request content are separate from our storage periods. We do not sell submitted photos or use them for advertising.

Cookies and local preferences

Sign-in uses cookies needed to keep your session and protect account access. Your browser may store a display preference, such as light or dark mode. You can clear these using your browser settings, but removing sign-in cookies will sign you out.

Google Analytics is optional. In some locations, we ask before loading it; elsewhere, it runs unless you turn it off using Cookie settings in the footer. When location cannot be determined, we ask first. Google may use analytics cookies and receive pages you visit, including account-area paths, along with browser and device information. We do not add your uploaded photos, email address or payment details as analytics events. We do not use this tag for advertising personalization.

If you make a choice, it is saved in this browser. You can change it or turn off analytics through Cookie settings in the site footer. Turning it off stops future page views; you can also clear existing cookies in your browser settings.

How long we keep it

Access to a source photo in our private storage expires after 24 hours. A generated portrait expires after 30 days; download it before then. Automated cleanup removes expired objects from active storage. You can delete a finished portrait earlier in My Creations. Deleting it here does not erase copies held by an AI provider or payment records held by Stripe.

We keep account, creation metadata, credit, order and support records while needed to operate the service, respond to requests, resolve disputes or meet recordkeeping obligations. You can request account deletion from Profile; information we must retain may remain. Provider and backup retention may differ from the active-storage periods above.

Security and international processing

We keep uploaded photos and results in private storage, limit access to the owning account and use short-lived links when your browser needs an image. We use HTTPS for the site. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.

Our providers may process information in countries other than yours. Their locations and applicable safeguards depend on the provider and the request. Contact us if you need information about a transfer relevant to your data.

Your choices and rights

You can download an available portrait, delete it from My Creations, and request account deletion in Profile. Depending on where you live, you may also be able to request access to, correction or deletion of personal information, a portable copy, restriction of processing, or to object to certain processing. You may be able to complain to your local privacy authority.

Send a request to support@acornportrait.com or through Contact. We may verify that it concerns your account before acting, and will handle it under applicable law. If you gave separate permission for public display, you can contact us to withdraw it for future display; this does not undo processing already completed.

Children’s photos

The service is not directed to children. Do not submit a child’s photo unless you have the authority of their parent or guardian to do so. If you believe a child’s image was submitted without permission, contact us so we can review it.
